Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 17, 2026
This policy explains what information the Mewbark app ("Mewbark", "we", "us") collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. Mewbark is made by an independent developer. Questions: support@mewbark.app.
The short version
- We collect what you put into the app about your pets, so the app can work.
- We don't show ads, don't track you across other apps or websites, and don't sell your data.
- Photos you choose to check are sent to our AI provider to produce the result.
- You can delete your account and all its data at any time in the app (Profile > Delete account).
Information we collect
- Account. When you first open the app, we create an account with a random identifier. You don't need to give your name or email. If you choose Sign in with Apple, we receive the email address Apple shares with us (this may be an Apple "Hide My Email" address) and, if you allow it, your name.
- Pet information. What you enter about your pets, such as name, species, breed, birthday, sex, spay/neuter status, diet, activity level, health concerns, food allergies and weight.
- Health records. Logs, daily check-in answers, reminders, and the results of health checks.
- Photos. Pet photos you add to a profile or take for a health check.
- Purchases. Whether you have a subscription and when it renews or ends. Payment is handled by Apple; we never see your card details.
- App usage. Limited technical information, such as how many health checks you ran today (to apply usage limits), and which paywall screens were shown and whether a purchase was made.
How we use information
- To provide the app: store your pets' records, run health checks, show trends, and send the reminders you set up.
- To manage subscriptions and apply the free plan's limits.
- To keep the service secure and working, and to fix problems.
Reminders are scheduled on your phone as local notifications. Optional "check-in nudges" are off unless you turn them on in Profile.
Who processes your information
We use these service providers, only to run the app:
- Supabase stores your account, pet records and photos on servers in the United States.
- OpenAI analyzes the photos and answers you submit for a health check. We send them through OpenAI's API with storage turned off; OpenAI does not use API data to train its models.
- RevenueCat manages subscription status and purchase history.
- Superwall shows the subscription screens and records how they are used.
- Apple handles Sign in with Apple, payments and notifications.
We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it with advertisers or data brokers. We may disclose information if required by law.
How long we keep it
We keep your information while your account exists. On the free plan, logs older than 30 days are hidden in the app but kept, so they come back if you subscribe. When you delete your account, we delete your account, pet records, photos and our subscription records, and we revoke Mewbark's Sign in with Apple access.
Your choices
- Edit or delete pets, logs, weights and reminders in the app at any time.
- Delete your account and all its data in the app: Profile > Delete account. Deleting your account doesn't cancel an App Store subscription; cancel it in your iPhone's Settings > Apple ID > Subscriptions.
- Turn notifications off in your iPhone's Settings.
- For any other request about your data, email support@mewbark.app.
Children
Mewbark is not directed to children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect information from them. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we will delete it.
Changes
If we change this policy, we will update the date above, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
